Supporting children, adults and families for better mental health. #Letsdostuff

Our 100,000 free book pledge every single year

We pledge to give away 100,000 innovative and award winning mental health recovery books every year, for free, to socially and economically deprived areas of the UK and USA.

This is part of our pledge to significantly reduce suicide rates within the next 10 years.

As part of our pledge to significantly reduce suicides within the next 10 years via the Standing Up To Suicide – The Reclaim Life Project, we pledge to give away 100,000 free copies of innovative self-help and recovery books every year, to those with mental health issues, living in the most severe social and economic deprivation.

These will include books published by Trigger Press, our own publishing house, and those that are listed on The Shaw Mind Foundation’s Recommended Reading List. Mental health doesn’t discriminate; neither should geography or financial status.

PTT-book3-1-600x600 At The Shaw Mind Foundation, we believe that positive and accessible education is paramount for the sufferer and their families in order for mental health problems to be identified, recognised and understood. We believe education through user-friendly recovery and support books plays a significant role in allowing sufferers and their families to have immediate access to helpful recovery approaches, which aid and support the sufferer to address their mental health issues directly.

In making this pledge to give 100,000 books, we will be working with mental health charities, mental health community groups, and general medical practices to reach those in need. Accredited mental health organisations offering support to sufferers and their families at the point of need will also be invited to apply for free books, by contacting us directly.

Any size donation, no matter how small, will make a difference to those children, adults and families going through the distress caused by mental health issues.

We can all change the game on mental health recovery. It’s time for a new way of thinking to make recovery inevitable for all. Join the movement #letsdostuff
